application:
1. It is widely used in composites to improve the compatibility between inorganic fillers and polymers in composites; Significantly improve the tensile, bending and other mechanical properties, as well as thermal, electrical and water resistance of the composites. It is especially suitable for all kinds of thermoplastic and thermosetting resins reinforced by glass fiber.
This product can be used as the raw material of a new generation of amino modified silicone oil and a variety of silicone super softeners.
2. The bonding strength of this product can be increased by 60% to 100% by adding 1% or less of solid content to nitrile phenolic structural adhesive, polyethylene butyraldehyde phenolic adhesive and polyurethane adhesive hot melt adhesive. Add this product to polyurethane sealant and plastic melt sealant to obtain long-term adhesion to glass, masonry, metal and other substrates, with excellent stability and high elongation to the climate.
4. This product can be used as an adhesion promoter in coatings and inks to improve adhesion, reduce curing temperature, improve weather resistance, etc.
5. The use of this product in the foundry industry can reduce the amount of resin in silica sand, improve the strength of mold sand (about 30%) and reduce gas evolution.
6. In magnetic materials, this product can improve the dispersion and adhesion of magnetic particles in plastic and rubber magnets in organic matter, so that the magnetic particles have a higher orientation. So as to obtain better magnetic properties, improve the mechanical strength of magnetic materials, weather resistance and easy to dry and process.
usage method:
When this product is used as an additive, the addition amount of silane is generally 0.5-3.0% of the formula amount, and the most appropriate amount needs to be determined through experiments. This product is especially suitable for applications where the environmental humidity is high.
Like other silanes, this product can be configured into an aqueous solution with a concentration of 0.1-1.0%. When preparing this aqueous solution, just add this product directly to deionized water with stirring, and continue stirring until the solution becomes clear and transparent. The surface of inorganic materials can be treated with silane aqueous solution by spraying, coating, impregnation, etc. Silane can also be directly mixed with filler under high shear without adding any solvent.
After the surface of the filler is treated with silane, it can be dried by natural air or for a short time at a temperature of 105 to 120 ºC to complete the condensation of silanol groups on the surface and remove methanol and water. The best addition amount, use and drying conditions (such as time and temperature) for each application need to be obtained through experiments. This product will produce a small amount of low molecular alcohol in the reaction, so proper ventilation system should be considered for treatment in the production process.
Solubility:
This product is easy to hydrolyze and soluble in isopropanol, acetone, toluene, xylene, mineral oil and other organic solvents. Generally speaking, silane can be dissolved in many common organic solvents, but when using a specific solvent, the solubility and stability of silane in the solvent should be verified.
